Script & Logline:

Scene 1: The office, scene pans around the room, focuses on the therapists pen and his face. the camera slowly reveals the protagonist hunched on his chair, looking distraught and revealing his troubles.

Dr Landon:  And how long has these dreams gone on for, Elliot?

Elliot, Revealing the characters face, reveals: A little under two weeks, and that was probably                     the last time i slept properly too.

Dr Landon: I see, and have you experienced any changes or unhappiness in your life, as in family or college troubles?

Elliot, shaking his head slightly: No, well nothing i can remember at least, but no, i don't think.

Dr Landon: How would you describe your mood, how do these dreams make you feel Elliot?

Elliot: I..er...i feel scared...i feel terrified every night to go to bed, id stay awake all night, just staring into thin air. I never wanted this.... I'm miserable, I'm missing college, missing deadlines.. i can't go through with this any more.

Dr Landon: Are you on any sort of medication? Are you a drinker? or partake in any social activities with any friends?

Elliot: No, not at all, I'm not crazy.. i don't know how they started, it was just random that these started happening. Everything was fine, life was good..

Dr Landon, writing down his notes: Okay, is family aware of these happenings? Have they taken a notice to your behaviors?

Elliot: I haven't told anyone yet apart from you, at first i thought it was just this one off bad dream, but the same thing has happened every night and i can't really sleep much after, obviously my mam asks how i am every morning but i just say I'm fine, she will soon find out about college, i rarely  see them now, they both work long hours overnight so i mainly have the house to myself, i only see them pretty much every morning before i leave for college so they don't notice much.

Dr Landon: I think explaining your troubles and making your parents aware of how you are could really help. Maybe they could monitor you and and keep track of your sleeping patterns and what is troubling you because it isn't healthy, especially for a student. Why don't you want anyone to know about it?

Elliot: I don't want to be judged or.. cared after like some child, i don't want people to think I'm crazy or anything. I just want to be the same person that i used to be for everyone. I don't need anyone to tell me what to do....apart from you of course, sorry.

Dr Landon: Don't worry, Are you ready to talk about it?, this is entirely confidential, this isn't shared with lecturers or tutors or anyone of the like, its only between me and you.

Elliot, with a big sigh, he then nods ever so slightly: Alright... it starts with me waking up..

Cut Away to the dream

ELLIOT AWAKES FROM THE WOODS FLOOR, IN A SUDDEN PANIC HE QUICKLY GETS UP, HEAVILY BREATHING, HE SCANS THE AREA. HE STARTS TO WALK AT A QUICK PACE.

Cut Away to the office

Elliot: Ill find myself on the floor and ill look around.. I'm in full control of my actions, like i can think normally and respond properly to my actions, its like a lucid dream.. and this is what makes it so much worse...

Cuts back to the dream

CRUNCHING LEAVES UNDER HIS FEET AND TRIPPING UP ON BRANCHES. HE SEES A HOODED AND MASKED FIGURE IN THE DISTANCE, HE STOPS DEAD IN HIS TRACKS AND STARTS TO TURN AROUND TO RUN AWAY ONLY TO BUMP INTO ANOTHER MASKED FIGURE.

Cut Away to Office

Elliot : Then ill find these people...

Cut Back to the dream

HE PUSHES HIM AWAY AND RUNS DEEPER INTO THE WOODS, PANTING AND LOOKING BEHIND HIM TO SEE THEM STANDING STILL.

Cuts Away to the Office

Elliot : They'd try to catch me, try and grab me... I just try and run..

Cuts back to the dream

THE MORE HE GOES, THE MORE HE SEES MORE OF THE FIGURES UNTIL THEY EVENTUALLY CATCH UP AND GRAB HIS ARMS FROM BEHIND HIM, HE KICKS A MASKED FIGURE WHO IS IN FRONT IN THE STOMACH AND SHAKES FREE FROM THE GRIP AND HITS THE FIGURE IN THE FACE, HE BEGINS TO RUN AGAIN UNTIL A GROUP OF THREE COME OUT FROM THE TREES AND MORE SURROUND HIM , CREATING A CIRCLE OF FIVE. ELLIOT GRABS A BRANCH AND SWINGS IT AROUND TO SCARE OFF THE FIGURES, THEY CLOSE IN ON HIM AND GRAB HIM, STABBING HIM IN THE NECK WITH A SYRINGE.

Cut Away to the Office

Elliot: Ands thats when i wake up...

Cut Away to bedroom late at night

HE AWAKES IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT, GRABBING HIS NECK AND PANTING.

Cuts To Elliot leaving the room, closing the door and walking off-screen.

CUT TO BLACK

CREDITS

The reason for this ending is to leave it short and bitter, to make the audience think and make the ending up themselves, does this mean that they were in fact real? This is made for the audience to create and make the ending themselves, also we won't really have time to shoot an ending as this is already an ambitious attempt at a short film but i am dedicated in my studies and wish to make this idea a reality and hopefully get recognition for it and from the help of my friends who have offered their services in creating this short film.

I am aware the story does leave a few potholes but with no budget involved, it is difficult to have very ambitious ideas. this idea may not be amazing, but it goes with what we have.

Story Board: Completed on the 12th February 2019
This shows the camera men how i want the film to be shot, what the scenes should roughly look like and how the scene will play out like.

Shot List:  This is the list of camera angles from the final product of the assignment from the very beginning of the video.

Equipment: Completed on 14th February. The equipment is crucial in making a film, you can't make a film without a camera! There is also other essentials that are necessary for the camera to be set up and for the scene to work. However, somethings may come at a cost and if the film has a budget, it is important to be wise with how you spend it, expecially  if you are planning on gaining from the production.

Locations: These are the locations that require forms and permission to be filmed in with the forms.

 Bede College

My House

Music: The chase scene in the film will require music to fit the action on the screen. therefore i have found a non copyrighted song that can be used that is suitable

My Proposal:
The story is about a troubled teenager that has bad dreams about a masked figure killing him every night, leaving him unable to sleep, however the figures start to become a member of his society. The characters involve elliot, the lead role, noel his best friend, dr lanyon and the masked figure that occurs through the film. The film will be around 5-7 minutes long and will be very intriguing from start to finish with the intense chase scenes and the emotions caused by them. The target audience is fans of the thriller genre or teenager that can relate to the college life and feel like they have their own problems in life so they can relate to the characters.

Health/ Risk assessment: Allows us to know how dangerous the situation we are putting ourselves into will be.
